Elkmont Campground is located inside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park near Gatlinburg, TN.  It is the site of an old logging camp and is surrounded by old vacation homes that were built before the park was established.  Many of the campsites are on the Little River.  Jon enjoys tubing this section, especially after a good rain!  Diane thinks that tubing would be a lot of fun, but the water is just too cold!  We have visited here three consecutive summers and have enjoyed the ranger programs and the wildlife.   We have seen several black bears, some closer than Diane would like!
